This is Alice (Feature Film)
Logline: Alice wakes up alone in a post-apocalyptic world and slowly begins to lose her mind from the isolation until an unexpected friend joins her, but everything is not as it seems.
Stories of isolation grip us so tightly because connection is a part of what it means to be human. Christopher McCandless, the subject of the book and film, Into the Wild, wrote, “Happiness is only real when shared” after trekking into solitude in Alaska where he spent his final days.
It’s been said that there is a loneliness epidemic. Even amongst bustling cities, people feel more alone than ever. We crave connection, and when it is taken from us, we start to unravel. Many people felt this during the COVID-19 pandemic. Unable to leave their room. Unable to see their loved ones. Others experience it during a breakup or death, losing someone you love and somehow having to carry on.
This is Alice taps into these universal feelings, following a young woman forced into isolation at the end of the world as she struggles to survive and find a reason to continue on.
